In June 2018, we changed our name from Skillnet to bemix.  We wanted to have a clearer, more focused message about who we are and what we do.  That is that our vision is of a world where everyone is treated as an equal and valued as an individual - we should all have the same chance to be seen, be heard and belong.
People from across the organisation shared what being part of bemix means to them.  Watch the video at the top of the page to see what we said.
Our 1st anniversary of being called bemix is just a few days before Learning Disability Awareness Week (17th - 23rd June) and the first Learning Disability Pride (15th - 21st June).  Learning Disability Pride is led by Gary Bourlet, a leader in the People First movement and Founder of Learning Disability England.

About Learning Disability Pride

"Learning Disability Pride – we are proud of who we are!
People with learning disabilities have been kept out of community life in the past. Not any more. We are going to ordinary schools with our brothers and sisters, we live in our own homes, have jobs and do a lot for our communities.

There is still a lot to be done to make life better for some of us, but we want to celebrate all we have achieved."
