Project Lead - Swale

What do you love about working with bemix?

I love loving my job, I never get that ‘Monday morning feeling’. I am so lucky to be able to play a part throughout the journey our young people make to paid employment, or an alternative progression route. I feel so passionate about supporting young people to reach their goals and aspirations. I am also dedicated to changing the way the world of employment views learning difficulties and autism, providing training and information to employers to enable them to support the young person to not only maintain paid employment but to also progress within their role. I love to create visual aids and come up with reasonable adjustments within a work placement. I am proud to be part of the amazing bemix team.

How long have you been involved with bemix?

I started bemix in September 2017 as a Work Coach.

What is your role in bemix?

I am the Project Lead of Swale & Gravesham Supported Employment

What did you do before you joined bemix?

I was a catering manager, I worked closely with the jobcentre plus in arranging work experience for individuals who were long term unemployed for a number of different reasons.

What do you enjoy doing when you're not working?

I have a 3 year old daughter who I spend all my time with when I am not working. We are always doing something fun, whether it’s a trip to our local soft play or a walk out on her Shetland pony Daisy. We live on a small hold farm so life is pretty busy and full of all kinds of animals - I wouldn’t have it any other way.
