Work Coach

What do you love about working with bemix?

Working with bemix is a real privilege, I thoroughly enjoy seeing the positive impact we have on people's lives. Seeing people with autism and/or learning difficulties thriving in our society and achieving their goals, there is no greater reward than that.

How long have you been involved with bemix?

I began working with bemix in September 2018 and never looked back.

What is your role in bemix?

My role here at bemix is a Work Coach within our Supported Employment Project. I support young people between 17-24 with autism and/or learning difficulties to find sustainable paid work so that they can begin to gain a level of independence. I also help support the Senior Management Team with project related tasks such as setting up placements for our young people.

What did you do before you joined bemix?

Before bemix I used to work in the retail sector and quickly discovered that this sector was not where I would have wanted to stay. Although, it was here in this sector where I began training somebody with autism and I found that I really enjoyed supporting her. Thus began my search for support roles.

What do you enjoy doing when you're not working?

When I am not at work I enjoy spending time with my family and friends. I also go to the gym 4 times a week. I am a huge fan of the Harry Potter franchise so I regularly re-read the books. I really enjoy the simple things in life.
