bemix are pleased to announce a new project working with Project Lead, Social Enterprise Kent. The project is called Breaking Barriers and is all about gaining skills and confidence around the world of work!

This is free to members in bemix, it's a 8-10 week project and you will be supported by a bemix Employment Coach, either in person or online. This project is also open to those outside of bemix who meet the eligibility criteria.

You need to have been unemployed for 18 months or more to be eligible.

We will meet you for up to one and a half hours a week.  We can meet you in the library, in a cafe or at a bemix venue.

We can support you to develop your confidence, your CV, practice interview skills, and start thinking about what kind of jobs you might want to do. We can also support you to apply for jobs!

Breaking Barriers focuses on inclusive employment practises and will explore barriers that people with learning difficulties and/or autism may face when accessing work. It will also explore what organisations can do to welcome a diverse workforce that is representative of their community.

You will also receive help to develop pre-work skills, challenge self-stigmas, overcome prejudices and barriers, and work towards independently accessing and staying in employment.

This is a short term project and bemix can support a maximum of 50 people. If you are interested, please let us know as soon as possible.

To take part in this project, contact Helena by email [email protected] or by telephone 07921 040 027.

This project is funded by the UK Government through the UK Community Renewal Fund #UKCommunityRenewalFund
