Our social enterprise, Eco Shed is supporting the raffle at Farm Work Play's Spring Fete this Saturday (check out their Facebook page for details). Eco Shed has donated a beautiful, hand made chopping board.

Providing a quality service making bespoke, handmade products for the community is at the heart of what we do at Eco Shed, so we love being able to support other projects that bring the community together. This not only means people can buy ethically and sustainably made products and reduce the amount of wood going to landfill, but also means that people with a learning difficulty and/or autism have the opportunity to be seen, be heard and belong as active members of society.

In the past few weeks, the team have been busy making bird feeders (including the unusual love bird design pictured above), bird boxes, small furniture items such as a side cupboard with drawer and a DVD/games unit, and a commissioned wood store.  Click on the wood store image below to read a glowing testimonial from a delighted customer.

"Carefully constructed with good quality and strong wood. The price was also extremely reasonable compared to similar designs on the market but far superior in construction and aesthetics. It's very solid unlike the flat pack furniture on offer on the net.  The final design was exactly how I had hoped it would look.

I love the final piece so much that I have now been inspired to design some more pieces for my garden and ask the Eco Shed to make them for me!  I didn't think I would treasure a piece of garden furniture but this one I do!"

One member of the project (pictured below), who has been with Eco Shed less than a year and has produced a number of amazing items in that time, has been sanding planks for a memorial bench he is building.

"I come here every week and it makes me happy"
