The members of Eco Shed are buzzing with festive creativity as they put the finishing touches on their handcrafted Christmas collection. Snowmen, Christmas trees, and an ambitious new project a retro-style puppet show, are all part of this season's offerings from bemix's social enterprise.

True to their values, the Eco Shed team works exclusively with reclaimed wood, transforming discarded timber into wonderful gifts for sale and treasured presents for family and friends. It's sustainability in action, and it's making a real difference.

Co-Production in Action

From initial concept through to final sale, the Eco Shed exemplifies what real co-production looks like.

Members work together at every stage: brainstorming ideas, planning the making process, sourcing the right materials, crafting each piece by hand, and adding those brilliant, creative decorations that make each item unique.

This year's creative highlight? A charming puppet show film called A Christmas Croc. The team designed and built wooden puppets from scratch, then brought them to life in a fun, retro-style production that's guaranteed to bring smiles!  Click below to watch this wonderful show:)

Community, Creativity, and Commerce

With enthusiasm and talent in abundance, team members also take pride in displaying their creations for sale at the Sittingbourne Eco Shed and through the online shop, connecting with customers who value handmade, sustainable goods.

Stewart, an Eco Shed member for many years, said,

"I love making things to sell and making money for the Eco Shed. Working as part of a bigger team and by myself is really awesome. I have a lot of friends at bemix and love coming here every day - I'm part of the furniture!"

Cheryl Brockwell, Eco Shed Lead, added: 

"I love working with everyone—I smile every day and learn from members regularly. Learning to make puppets recently is just one new thing we've done together. And I nearly split my side with laughter when I watched the Christmas puppet show film we all created."
