6 weeks into the new term and our Supported Internships students are settling into their work placements.

Oscar Woodham from Swale has bagged himself the work placement that many people can only dream about. He's working with independent brewers Boutilliers. Boutilliers Brewery is based at The Hop Shed on the Macknade site in Faversham and sits alongside bemix friends Macknade Fine Foods and Wild Bread.

We have been discussing placements with Boutilliers founders Richard and Phil for over a year, but we wanted to make sure we found the right person for the job.

As new business owners, Rich and Phil were keen to involve the community in their venture and to help someone onto the career ladder as part of that. Finally, we had the perfect student for them; Oscar.

As part of his role, Oscar has been assisting with and learning about the entire brewing process.
