Following the recent milestone of delivering Oliver McGowan Mandatory Training to more than 10,000 health and social care staff across Kent and Medway in just 13 months, we are delighted to share another major achievement for our Training Team!

Our incredible bemix, OMMT team has now achieved the Quality Assured Care Learning Service Accreditation from Skills for Care, a nationally recognised benchmark for high-quality training and development within adult social care.

The Quality Assured Care Learning standards are designed to recognise high-quality training delivery and support employers to make informed decisions about learning and development for the adult social care workforce. To achieve accreditation, training providers must demonstrate evidence across a range of rigorous quality standards.

Every week, our team delivers The Oliver McGowan Tier 1 and Tier 2 Mandatory Training on Learning Disability and AutismTM to Health and Social Care colleagues across Kent and Medway.

Through co-production and lived experience, the training helps professionals better understand the needs, experiences, and rights of autistic people and people with learning disabilities.

This latest recognition reflects the dedication, professionalism, and passion our trainers bring to every session. It also highlights the strength of the partnership working that has helped the programme grow and succeed.

Natasha Corcoran, Head of Project – OMMT at bemix, said:

“Our team, with the support of our partners, Kent Autistic Trust and Aucademy, should be incredibly proud of what they have achieved.

“This accreditation demonstrates that our training partnership delivers to the very highest quality standards. We built this service from the ground up and, although there have been challenges along the way, the team has remained committed to delivering meaningful, co-produced training that makes a real difference.

“For many of our trainers, this is much more than a job. They are passionate about sharing Oliver’s story and their own lived experience to help improve care and support for autistic people and people with learning disabilities.

“They do an excellent job and I am incredibly proud to work with such inspirational colleagues. Well done team.”

Working alongside partners including Kent Autistic Trust and Aucademy, the team has developed a training service that is helping to create positive change across health and social care services throughout Kent and Medway.

At the heart of the programme is the belief that people with lived experience should be heard, valued, and involved in shaping better services. This accreditation recognises not only the quality of the training itself, but the impact that co-produced learning can have on improving understanding, confidence, care, and outcomes.

Congratulations to the entire team on this fantastic and well-deserved achievement.
