About West Track Studios

West Track Studios is a purpose-built rehearsal space situated in the centre of Historic Canterbury, founded in September 2008.

The studio is owned and run by bemix (formerly Skillnet Group). Everyone at West Track Studios believes in equality and social justice for all. We only mention this to artists or bands visiting the facility to give them an idea of the ethos we try and promote in all our work. All income from the studio is reinvested into our work at bemix.

"Music is freedom" - Neil, Studio Manager

West Track Studios caters for live band rehearsals, with drum kits, bass and guitar amps and vocal PA in both our Small and BIG Rooms. Both rooms were designed with acoustics very much in mind (sloping ceilings, acoustic roof tiles and treated walls) and when the double doors are shut to either room the sound proofing becomes self-evident.  The Studios are used as our Canterbury base and our Music, Media and Drama groups use the space during the week, with other groups and individuals hiring the rooms in the evenings and at weekends.

The vision for West Track Studios is clear – we want to become “The Home of Local Music in Canterbury” and surrounding areas, and we want to be thought of as a community by all users, rather than just bricks and mortar and actively encourage the integration of all who visit us.

West Track Studios is an eco-friendly venue. The electricity on site is powered by photo-voltaic panels on the roof and the toilets use a rainwater harvesting system.
