Specialist Supporter in Maidstone.

One to One Support for an Adult with Autism and Mental Health support needs.

13 hours (12 hr support + 1 hr admin) per week

Working hours / days to be confirmed but will include some evenings and 1 weekend day per month. 

A job share may be considered for this position.

Salary: £10 per hour

Benefits: Generous 25 days annual leave plus 8 bank holidays (pro rata)
Location: Maidstone

This is an exciting opportunity to join the bemix Life Choices team.  It is a one-to-one supporting role, working alongside an autistic adult in their own home 

and local community. 

About the role

We are seeking someone who naturally works in a co-produced way. This means working alongside people with autistic spectrum conditions and/or a learning difficulty/disability as equals, to ensure the quality and standard of personalised support is excellent. Someone who is adept at building relationships, and finding creative and innovative ways to shape support, will suit this role. The successful candidate will support the person in various aspects of their life. This will include accompaniment to the shops, appointments and meetings. Paperwork, filing and sorting out mail. Writing or amending letters. Making phone calls. Accompanying on dog walks and social activities, such as going to the theatre, shopping, sports activities and meeting friends. Working with the individual to record a plan about how they would like to be supported. Supporting them to consider their actions and the impact they have on others and with their mental health.
