If so, then we have a fantastic opportunity to join our discovery catering team working within our social enterprise kitchen. 

Main aim: You will work with people to learn and develop a wide range of catering and hospitality skills. This will include meal planning, shopping, food preparation and being involved in the running of the successful bemix pop up community cafe.  

Hours: 7.4 hours a week, working every Tuesday. 

Location: Westgate Hall, Canterbury. 

Salary and benefits: bemix is proud to be an accredited Living Wage Foundation employer. This role pays £10.90 per hour + Generous 25 days annual leave plus 8 bank holidays (pro rata), plus Pension Scheme option. 

Are you someone who...

  • Has experience working in a kitchen, the hospitality field or just has a passion for cooking!  

  • Sees your work as a vocation and you are passionate about your contribution to social change. 

  • Is a natural communicator with great interpersonal skills. You are able to present and communicate information in a way that is easy to understand. You have a natural feel for clear, plain wording. 

  • Enjoys working within a team.

  • Is adept at spotting what needs to be done, with the vigour to do what it takes to keep bemix and the project you’re working within thriving and operational.

  • Is committed to equality and working in a co-produced way that values all people.

  • Is able to support people well and understand that people need different types of support at different times.
