About us Meet the Team Emma Knowles Functional Skills Teacher What do you love about working with bemix? I enjoy working alongside our Young People to support them to develop and build on their skills and take the steps they need to secure their even brighter futures. bemix really does care about the people who are involved with it and will always try to advocate for positive change for them. Because of this, bemix staff always go the extra mile and I like being part of an organisation that has that ethos. How long have you been involved with bemix? I have worked with bemix since April 2019. What is your role in bemix? I am the Functional Skills teacher in Swale and also currently teach the Enterprise Day in Swale too. What did you do before you joined bemix? I have had a varied career before working with bemix. I have worked with adults living with mental health conditions and learning disabilities in their own independent flats helping them to sustain their tenancies, I have worked with women with learning disabilities living in a safe house after leaving abusive relationships and I have worked with young people with autism in work placements with mainstream employers. In my role as a teacher, I have also taught health and social care within a large college before joining all my skills together to work with bemix. What do you enjoy doing when you're not working? I love being outside in nature, going on long walks with my dog and I am an avid reader.
