I have 20 years of experience supporting people with disabilities in various roles, as a classroom assistant, support worker, senior support worker and deputy manager. I worked for 8 years in supported accommodation in London, supporting people with mental health and dual diagnoses to manage their health and live in the community.

I have worked with the Skillnet Group since 2014, starting in Head Held High as an employment coach which eventually led to my current role as Head of Supported Employment. We worked closely with the DWP for many years, successfully supporting adults with disabilities into sustained employment. I run a Job Club, Finger on the Pulse – supporting adults around gaining employment and work placements, for which we got a grant from Awards for All with IT equipment. A natural progression for Skillnet has been to work with young people into the world of work. As a result, I helped develop the Supported Internships pilot in Swale, which started in September 2016. I lead on the Swale programme and oversee the SI programme as a whole. As everyone I work with, I get a buzz out of seeing people achieve, gain work and independence and it continues to motivate me in everything I do.

I am passionate about Skillnet’s ethos of working together in a co-produced way, creating services with people – that work - for people. I am currently studying my Certificate for Supported Employment Practitioners with BASE (British Association of Supported Employment).

I enjoy cooking (and eating!), I love music – especially live music, wandering around nature with our lovely dog Reggie!
